This full-day conference will bring together the leading thinkers on Wilfred Bion to consider his place in current psychoanalytic research and practice, and the ways in which his ideas can be drawn on in psychoanalytically informed work with couples.

Bion’s work is one of the cornerstones of psychoanalytic theory, especially his insights into groups, his hugely influential concept of container-contained and his rich theory of thinking which highlights the importance of emotional experience. This conference will consider the relevance of his work for new generations of therapists, both in psychoanalytic work with individuals and with couples, and what it can teach us about relationships.
