This is a self-development group that will take you on a spiritually and emotionally sophisticated journey of self-discovery.

Through a series of detailed exercises - using ritual, dreams, and imagination, you will develop the skills to become less bound by the mythologies of your childhood and of your culture, while learning to influence personal patterns that once seemed beyond your control. This work also draws on elements of CBT.

The workshops will help you to 'de-mythologise' your personal script, take what is the most valuable from it, and create a new one. The work will have a therapeutic character and requires commitment.

This program will consist of the following five stages;

  • identification of underlying mythic/personal conflict
  • understanding of mythic/personal conflict
  • envisioning a new personal mythology
  • committing to a new vision
  • living through new mythology

The workshops will involve group and individual work: guided fantasy, improvisation, performance or creating personal rituals.

Each session will start with check-in activities, mental/physical warm-up games and the main part. The sessions will be closed with group reflections and checking-out.

Apart from taking part in the workshops, you will be sometimes given a task to complete at home. Usually we will be meeting in the same space, however once or twice we will have outdoor sessions.

As the work has therapeutic character, I would like to meet each potential participant for an individual consultation to discuss their needs and difficulties, as well as suitability for the group.

Please note that it is not a therapy group and individual matters will not be discussed or worked through during the workshops. However, it is possible that personal material will be emotionally charged and will touch the depths of one’s being. Therefore, it will be an individual responsibility to address any personal issues.

The group will consist of a maximum of 12 members. We will be meeting on a weekly basis for 12 sessions. Each session will last for three hours.

The cost of the whole course is £480. The cost of an individual consultation is £30.

Please note that, in order to participate in the group, an individual consultation is required.

The group will start in January. The venue will be confirmed in the due course.

Please do contact me if you have any questions.

I facilitated a very similar course with students of Dramatherapy at PG Diploma at the Polish School of Dramatherapy in Warsaw. They described their experience as challenging but rewording. Some of the students said that the work allowed them to free themselves from the burden of the past and employ new coping strategies that suited their needs.
