Lucys Place CIC community wellbeing wild swim

26th April 2024, 9.30am - 11.30am
Open to all
This event is free to priority groups. All are invited to apply and donations are invited.
Whiteadder Reservoir, Near Duns, East Lothian, TD11 1SN

This community wellbeing event is a wild swim. Wild swimming has been found to have significant benefits to health and wellbeing. Whiteadder reservoir's clear, fresh waters are an ideal place for a swim or a dip. Wetsuits are available if required and you will be safely supported by a kayaker and a rescue boat so you can simply relax and enjoy your time with a lovely group of people. There will also be an opportunity after the swim for a warm shower and a hot chocolate in the clubhouse.

This event is delivered by partners at Whiteadder Watersports Trust who are experienced and trained Watersports instructors. They are also fabulous people who are hugely supportive and encouraging.

The event is free and spaces are prioritised for anyone awaiting or engaged in psychological therapy at Lucy’s Place CIC or NHS. Due to funding arrangements, anyone living in Garvald and Morham wards is also prioritised. This event is, however, open to all to apply for remaining spaces. Wider communities are invited to give a donation of whatever they can afford.

If you are interested in taking part then we must receive a completed application. These are available at Carfrae Farm shop and Beech and Birch in Gifford. Electronic applications are available on request from info@lucysplace.org. Applications need to be received at least two weeks prior to the specific activity. The deadline for this activity is 12th April 2024.

Places are limited and priority is given to specific groups. Please get your application in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. You will be contacted shortly after the deadline to confirm your place, discuss any health concerns you’ve highlighted and explain the kit for the day. This is to ensure everyone gets the most from the activity.

We hope to see you there.
