Part memoir, part collection of riveting case histories, the book is written in a fluent, nuanced, witty and highly literary style, similar to Irvin Yalom or Oliver Sacks. All 52 stories are set in Glasgow, which is implicit in the architecture, atmosphere, weather, language and humour evoked throughout.
