EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma, much as the body recovers from physical trauma. This workshop explores the origin and theoretical basis behind EMDR, in particular, focusing on the ‘information processing’ operating in the brain.

We will focus on the eight stage protocol; introduce various aids and resources, as well as using client case studies to demonstrate how EMDR is used on a practical basis. A DVD will also be used in the workshop to aid the learning process. Information on further training for EMDR will be covered in the workshop should you wish to become an EMDR practitioner.

This workshop is facilitated by Val Adlparvar and Ericka Johanson
