Introduction to counselling skills - two-day workshop. This is an introductory course, open to anyone who is interested in learning about the basics of counselling skills and is also useful for those interested in learning about themselves - counselling skills can be used both at work and in your own personal life.
Interpersonal communication, personal development issues and the application of theory to practice are all explored. You will be introduced to the basics of counselling theory and selected approaches to the process including empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. You will develop skills such as active listening and reflection through developing self-awareness and self-reflection.
Who is the course for?
If you are considering a career in counselling, this course is an ideal starting point. If you work in health care, mental health, social services, prisons, education, human resources or have line management responsibilities, this course is ideal for you.
Course details
The course will be taking place at the Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel, LS16 8AG. Attendees will receive the 'Introduction to counselling skills' certificate. If they wish to continue with counselling training, they can use this to go on to further training.
Timings: 10.00 am - 5.00 pm both days. Lunch and refreshments are included.
Cost: £180 for the two-day course.
