The aim of this event is to increase your understanding of the effect of trauma on the interaction of the body and the brain, so you can begin to feel confident in recognising and assessing trauma.  

This is a non-pathologising approach to trauma work, looking at how the brain gets its cues of danger or safety and what it does to protect and survive.  

  • 11am - Introductions
  • 11:05am - Doors close promptly (session will be locked)
  • 11:10am - The body-brain trauma connections. This will include:
    • The ANS
    • Basic Polyvagal Theory
    • The Reptilian Brain
    • The Limbic Brain
  • 12 - 12:10pm - Break
  • 12:10pm - Applying knowledge to client work
  • 1pm - Questions and answers

Jacqueline Karaca is an experienced Psychotherapist. Her MSc dissertation was on accessing therapy for people who experienced severe childhood trauma and complex dissociation. Tracy Bond is an experienced Psychotherapist, supervisor and hypnotherapist. Both have years of experience working using a trauma informed approach with various trauma.
