HIV and AIDS awareness workshop
Anyone can be affected by HIV and AIDS, and we are in a time where the virus can be managed with medication meaning those with HIV can live a full and healthy life. Life expectancy of people with HIV is comparable to those who don’t have HIV. Despite this, it can be something many people don’t fully understand.
To mark world AIDS day on the 1st December, I will be facilitating a workshop focused on the awareness of HIV and AIDS.
This workshop will be for professionals and individuals that are looking to broaden their knowledge on the subject and you will be provided with a certificate of attendance.
The workshop will be in groups up to 10 and include some interactive work and cover topics such as:
- What is HIV and AIDS?
- History of HIV and AIDS.
- Stigmas related to the virus.
- Stigmas towards minority groups, especially in the LGBT+ community.
- Treatment options for those with HIV.
- Mental health implications of a HIV diagnoses.
