The programme incorporates the BACP Counselling Children and Young People training curriculum (4-18 years) and is designed to provide in-depth professional training in counselling for young people aged 5-18 years.
- Location: Grove House, Uddingston
- Dates: August 15th 2024 - May 28th 2026
- Duration: 2 years - part-time - 6 modules
Academically, the programme provides an advanced investigation of evidence-based interventions for working therapeutically with children and young people in an educational setting. The philosophical approach of the programme integrates an evidence-based resilience-based approach and the therapeutic conditions hypothesised by Carl Rogers the founder of Client-Centred Therapy.
The Diploma was first delivered to Aberdeenshire Council’s School Counselling Service in 2021-2023 and is currently in the final stages of Course Accreditation with BACP.
