Book launch: Trauma and embodied healing
You are cordially invited to the online book launch of 'Trauma and Embodied Healing in Dramatherapy, Theatre and Performance' on Tuesday 14th May from 6.00 to 8.00 pm.
The book explores the singularity of embodiment and somatic approaches in the healing of trauma from a dramatherapy, theatre and performance perspective. The volume brings together voices from international scholars, researchers, practitioners and clinicians in the fields of dramatherapy, theatre and performance to better understand how these different approaches offer unique and unexplored perspectives on the body as a medium for the exploration, expression and resolution of chronic, acute and complex trauma, as well as collective and intergenerational trauma in different cultural contexts.
A number of the volume's contributors will reflect on key findings on the intersection between trauma, healing, dramatherapy, theatre and creativity explored in this edited collection.
The event is free but booking through Eventbrite is essential. More details about the book can be accessed on the Routledge website.
Book foreword by Cathy Malchiodi.
The event will be chaired by Jean-François (J.F.) Jacques, book editor.
Jean-Francois (J.F.) Jacques PhD is a dramatherapist, certified somatic experiencing practitioner (SEP), clinical supervisor, lecturer and author with more than eighteen years experience in private practice and in adult mental health services in the NHS.
