About me

Hi, my name is Zoe and I work as an integrative counsellor.

My aim is to help people process the past, manage the present, become more self aware, and find healthy ways to express emotions or cope with stresses.

Whether you want to make changes within your life, or make sense of your thoughts, relationships, or identity, I provide a safe, non judgemental and confidential space to explore this.  I also have additional experience working with individuals with learning difficulties. If you have a diagnosis you are struggling to cope with, are a family member who is struggling, talking this through can help.

Getting started.

The quality of the therapeutic relationship is important for positive change. It is important that the counsellor is the right ‘fit’ and that the client feels comfortable. So, after making contact with me by phone or email, if we are both happy to proceed, I would offer you an appointment and book your initial assessment.

During the initial assessment, we would discuss your reason for seeking counselling and it's your opportunity to ask any questions you may have. There is also a short form I will fill out with you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor (diploma level) which means I can draw on different approaches depending on the issue you bring and the way of working that suits you best. My training is based in person centred practice, along with CBT, psychodynamic, transactional analysis (TA), and mindfulness. I can also work creatively if this is something that would suit you.

Whilst working towards my diploma, I spent 18 months counselling at The Quiet Mind centre in Exmouth counselling a range of issues. I also have 10 years employment experience in childcare, young people's and adult care settings, including individuals with learning difficulties.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
