About me

I offer counselling face to face, online, and walk and talk.

Have you been putting off looking for a counsellor, but are now in a place where you feel ready to explore, process and talk things through?

Challenges we face can often have links to our past. I am passionate about helping individuals to explore how past experiences shape the present. I have a special interest in supporting people to explore and heal emotional wounds that may be influencing relationships, self esteem, and overall wellbeing.

With a compassionate and non-judgemental approach, I provide a safe space for you to process past experiences, recognise unhelpful patterns, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low self worth, relationship difficulties, or feelings of being stuck, I can support you to create meaningful change.

If you’re ready to explore your past to better understand your present, I’d love to support you.

How I work

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic models to tailor the support to your unique needs. My focus is always on building a positive therapeutic relationship, and creating a space where you feel heard and understood. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and so we will work at your pace and I will follow your lead.

Getting started.

It can feel like a big step reaching out to a counsellor for the first time, but it can be life changing.
After making contact with me, I'll offer you an appointment and book your first session, during which I will complete an initial assessment with you.
During the initial assessment I will be filling out a short form, and we'll discuss your reason for seeking counselling. It's also your opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

- Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

- Certificate in Counselling Skills

- Level 3 Safeguarding Training

I have worked with adults and young people since 2011 in mental health related fields, as well as individuals with learning difficulties.
Prior to setting up my private practice, I spent 18 months working as a counsellor at The Quiet Mind Centre in Exmouth.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
