About me

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem? Maybe you're experiencing family or relationship issues? I am here to help you process the past, manage the present, become more self aware, and find healthy ways to express emotions.

Hi, my name’s Zoe and I’m a fully qualified and insured counsellor. I’m professional, empathetic and non-judgemental. I offer private counselling in a safe, calm space at my therapy room in Ivybridge, where you can explore issues in complete confidence.

How I work

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I work with you as a whole person and as an individual. I can draw on different approaches depending on the issue you bring and the way of working that suits you best. I can also work creatively if this is something that would suit you. I work in a person centred, non directive way, which means that I follow your lead and work at your pace.

I have worked with clients to explore and overcome feelings of anxiety, sadness, or low self confidence, amongst other things. I can work with you to find coping strategies that work for you, build self confidence and self awareness. We can work together to make positive changes within your life, make sense of your thoughts, relationships, or identity.

Getting started.

After making contact with me by phone or email, if we are both happy to proceed, I would offer you an appointment and book your initial assessment.

During the initial assessment, we would discuss your reason for seeking counselling and it's your opportunity to ask any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified, insured counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Whilst working towards my qualification, I spent 18 months counselling at The Quiet Mind centre in Exmouth. Once qualified, I set up my own private practice in Ivybridge.

I also have 10 years employment experience in mental health related fields, working within young people’s, adults, and elderly care settings, including individuals with learning difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
