About me
I offer online sessions to individuals seeking a safe, non-judgmental space to explore their thoughts and feelings. I strive to create a relaxed, authentic environment where you can be your true self, which creates the foundation to deepen our understanding of your struggles and foster genuine growth.
I welcome enquiries, as it can be hard to know whether any Counsellor is going to be a good fit for you. We can have a brief chat over the phone to see if we'd be a good match.
I trained as an Integrative Counsellor, meaning I adapt my working style to you and your unique circumstances. The person-centred approach acts as the foundation that I build upon, meaning I follow your lead and pace. However, I also believe in the power of immediacy, and addressing what's going on “in the room” to deepen our work with authenticity, which can help lead to greater emotional depth and understanding. I take inspiration from Gestalt, Emotion Focused Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Attachment Theory amongst others.
Words alone can be limiting for some clients, so if appropriate, we may wish to use more experiential tools such as chair-work or creative interventions to engage a different part of the mind.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the BACP having completed an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am committed to ongoing professional development and currently expanding my qualifications.
My professional background is in Wellbeing support for Unpaid Carers. This experience honed my ability to work with people facing burnout, grief, complex family dynamics, and chronic stress. It taught me the importance of emotional processing alongside loss, health conditions, and societal hurdles.
I hold certificates in clay-therapy, ecotherapy, mindfulness, trauma-awareness and more. I have prior education in technology and arts.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
