About me

Hi. Yvonne here. Thank you for reading my profile. I hope to become someone you can trust to help you navigate through the issues you are experiencing in the here and now and be a supportive ear for you.

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with a Postgraduate SCQF Level 11 in CBT and Trauma Training included in that, a COSCA Certificate in Counselling SCQF Level 8 and over 10 years of experience in mental health. I am a Registered Member of the B.A.C.P., which includes the accredited register of the PSA.

Further training has included REWIND therapy for Trauma/PTSD, Trauma-Informed Counselling via the Open University and Brainspotting with David Grand.

With my previous history as a Hypnotherapist and NLP Coach, I continue to draw on some of these techniques, now consciously integrated with a somatic therapy approach (including breathwork and colour work) within my CBT practice.

As a CBT Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I use somatic techniques alongside evidence-based CBT tools. I facilitate you to calm your nervous system, reduce overwhelming emotions, and begin to challenge unhelpful patterns more effectively. This combination helps you to build resilience, improve self-awareness, and move towards lasting change in your mental and emotional well-being.

Our therapy sessions will be collaborative using Behavioural work, CBT, Cognitive, Neuro linguistic programming, Person centred counselling, Solution focused brief therapy and Somatic Therapy (mind-body connections), REWIND therapy, Narrative and Imagined rescripting for Trauma/PTSD, Inner Child/Unmet needs therapy, Brainspotting.

I hold a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to explore what's happening in the 'here and now' and work collaboratively with you to clear issues affecting you now from the past and present.

I see self-paying clients and also clients via Vitality Health and Cigna - Employee Assisted Programmes (EAPs).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
