About me

Hello there, welcome to my therapy practice. My name is Yiran Elaine. I'm a BACP registered integrative therapist in London with clinical experiences in the NHS and Mind Charity.

You might be here because you want to talk about things, maybe there are things you want to change in your life. I offer a safe and confidential space where we can explore anything you bring, while always respecting your autonomy and pace.

Having lived in China and the UK, I understand the complexity of how people experience life, identity and relationship. I support clients in mid to long term counselling to explore emotional and relationship patterns, childhood and past experiences, family dynamics, identity, and mental health conditions. We will work through challenges together as a team. I offer online and face-to-face counselling in Chinese Mandarin and English.

Starting counselling is a significant step and can sometimes feel daunting, especially when you are speaking to someone new. If you feel this might be the right kind of support for you, please do get in touch. I look forward to getting to know you.

Locations I offer face-to-face sessions:
- 77 Fulham Palace Road, W6 8AF, near Hammersmith
- 2 Kenway Road, SW5 0RR, near Earl's Court and Gloucester Road
- 359 City Road, EC1V 1LR, near Angel Islington
- 224 Iverson Road, NW6 2HL, near West Hampstead

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy
  • MSc Clinical Mental Health at University College London
  • BSc Psychology at University College London

I completed my MSc clinical training with the Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service at North London NHS, before going on to work in a mental health A&E service jointly run by West London NHS and Mind Charity.

I’m no longer working in short term crisis intervention now as I moved to longer term talking therapy! Alongside my private practice, I provide culturally sensitive counselling to clients at Mind and online platforms.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
