About me

About me

You might be here because something just doesn't feel quite right. Not a crisis exactly: just a quiet, persistent sense that you've drifted from yourself.

Maybe you've spent a long time fitting around other people: saying yes when you mean no, keeping the peace, making yourself smaller. And somewhere along the way, you've lost track of who you actually are beneath all of that.

A lot of this has roots in early life. The ways you learned to feel loved, accepted, or safe tend to leave marks that show up later: in your relationships, your self-worth, and the stories you carry about yourself.

This is a space to slow down and look at that. Not to fix you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and gently reconnect with what you actually want and need.

How I work

My approach is humanistic, relational, and trauma-informed; meaning the relationship between us is at the heart of our work. Feeling truly heard and genuinely safe is where healing begins.

I won't hand you a toolkit or tell you what to do. I'll walk alongside you, curious about your story and respectful of your pace; exploring not just what's happening now, but how the past might be quietly shaping it.

I may also draw on parts-work: the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the part that learned to stay small. These aren't problems to fix: they're often loyal protectors. When we understand where they came from and what they're trying to communicate, something can really begin to change.

Therapy doesn't have to be heavy. It can be curious, even freeing.

As a queer therapist, I have particular experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, including those navigating identity, coming out at any stage of life, chosen family, and the specific ways that growing up queer can shape your relationship with yourself and others. You won't need to explain yourself here.

I offer sessions in person in Sheffield and online. A free 20 minute initial consultation is available so we can get a sense of whether working together feels right.

If something here resonates, I'd love to hear from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
