About me
I work with people who struggle with a lot of self-doubt. I can support you in your journey in figuring out who you genuinely are and what you genuinely want for yourself. The aim is to support you in growing your confidence and belief in yourself.
I am aware that at times life can feel quite confusing. Balancing different cultures and beliefs and not being quite sure about who you are and what your identity is. What is certain however, is that the life you are leading isn’t working for you. It feels unfulfilled, unhappy, stuck. Somewhere along the lines, you forgot the value that you offer to yourself and to others. This has led to a knock-on effect on how you feel about yourself, your self-esteem and even your relationships with others.
These are some of the things I can help with:
- You’ve experienced a bereavement or loss, whether, of a loved one, or of a future that you envisaged for yourself that now feels unattainable. You’re experiencing moments of either wanting to go back in time or for time to hurry and move forward. Either way, living in the present is proving to be extremely difficult.
- You experience flashes of irritability and annoyance, over the smallest of things, because distracting yourself only helps so much, after which your inner thoughts keep rising to the surface, again and again.
- You consistently catastrophise and constantly think of worst case or not so ideal scenarios that feel real to you, although there aren’t always explainable reasons to back this up.
- You’ve experienced unhealthy or traumatic childhood experiences, whether physical, sexual, psychological or emotional, that impact you to this day as an adult.
- You’ve experienced childhood experiences of neglect or disregard that impact you to this day as an adult.
- You are experiencing relationship struggles, whether it be a breakup or communication issues, that are leaving you feeling confused.
- You’ve noticed patterns of unhealthy relationships, with loved ones or within friendships, but trying to explore and navigate the feelings around it feels overwhelming.
- You are feeling somewhat lost or confused about your purpose in life and recognising that where you are right now is not where you want to be, but trying to figure out where you want to be is causing more confusion and frustration within you.
- You are struggling with navigating communication and feelings around different generational and cultural mindsets, and the impact it is having on you and your relationships.
- You feel like you have to always give in to other’s needs but then having to sit with guilt and resentment or discomfort around such decisions.
- You feel like you are a giver but are not receiving from others in the same way.
- You are experiencing indecisiveness and questioning your decision making on a daily basis.
Many of the above leave us feeling and thinking the below thoughts:
- Maybe I’m not good enough, no matter what I do.
- I can’t seem to get it right.
- I feel so misunderstood.
- I feel unseen.
- I feel unheard.
- I’m the problem.
- Why am I so difficult to love?
- I don’t know how to move forward.
- I feel stuck.
- I’m _________ (add any unhealthy, negative label, such as, lazy, boring, disorganised, needy, clingy, too sensitive etc).
What I offer:
I offer you the opportunity of a safe and confidential space that is free from any judgement and full of acceptance and empathy.
What this means for you is that you get a space to openly talk about what is troubling you; your past, your childhood, and the impact those experiences may have on you today. The purpose is to create opportunities to gain insights and clarity by exploring your thoughts and feelings, as well as supporting you in developing gradual changes that ultimately lead to a more healthier and balanced way of life.
Throughout this journey, I will support you in exploring and coming to an understanding of your own realistic wants and needs for your own life, whilst also supporting you in building a foundation of respect for yourself; stemming from a recognition of your own incredible worth and value.
The end goal is for you to arrive at a place where you feel confident within yourself and your decision making process, as you have cultivated your own inner counsellor, and therefore are able to go on to live life in the way that you choose.
I’m a big believer in people deserving the time and support to grow into a version of themselves that they feel confident and content with, and it is my aim to strongly support you in that journey.
Initial Consultation:
I understand that it can feel quite difficult trying to find a counsellor that is the right fit for you and so I offer a free 20 minute consultation in which we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to gain from therapy. During this consultation, you are free to ask any questions you have about counselling and the way I work, in order to help you make an informed decision about whether my way of working is a good fit for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
Experience:
I have worked within the NHS IAPT service offering short-term, focussed counselling as well as working with organisations, offering long-term counselling and psychotherapy to women who have experienced abusive relationships. I’ve also worked as a peer mentor and emotional support worker, supporting women to rebuild their lives and overcome different forms of abuse.
My personal experience involved, growing up within different cultures, which created many internal conflicts within me, pulling me in different directions. I came to a realisation that I was making decisions from a place of fear. Fear of failing, fear of disappointing others, fear of my own potential. With time and growth, I was able to come to an understanding of who I was and what I wanted for myself. This allowed me to make decisions from a place of confidence, stemming from true belief in myself and my value.
My experiences have given me a unique ability to see cultures from a balanced viewpoint; both the importance of beliefs and values that can come from our cultures, and how they can shape our identity in a healthy way, whilst also recognising the internal conflicts they can cause us as individuals, and the self-doubt that can create within us.
Intertwining, my personal and professional experiences, along with my training allows me to tailor my work according to your needs and requirements.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
