Supervision details

As an accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor, I work with trainee and qualified counsellors, both online and face to face, providing integrative clinical supervision. I work in a relational way, providing a safe, non-judgemental environment, with the purpose of creating opportunities for you to enhance your reflections within yourself, and confidence within your skills.

The aim is to empower you to feel confident within yourself, in order to navigate common aspects of your practice, including but not limited to:

Skill development and refinement: Whether a trainee looking to enhance awareness and understanding of their theoretical models and the skills associated with it, or qualified and experienced counsellors looking to advance their skills.

Navigating complexities: Working with challenges such as risk, resistance, counter transference, intensity in feelings and emotions.

Supporting self care: Supporting therapists in recognising the signs of burnout within themselves and exploring strategies to maintain wellbeing and capacity.

Navigating ethics and professional standards: Supporting exploration and navigation of ethical dilemmas to ensure the highest standard of professional boundaries and client safety.

I am particularly interested in working with counsellors who are currently within their core counselling training, or newly qualified, to support them in developing their skills and confidence.

My core counselling training was integrative, and relational, using the Clarkson 5 relationship model which I use within my private practice; working with clients to support them in overcoming their self-doubt and increase their confidence within themselves.

I hold a NCIP Accredited (level 7) Advanced Diploma in Supervision and I work with counsellors to support their growth and development, in a safe environment where there is no such thing as a “stupid” or “common sense” question. My commitment to you is to support you in helping you grow, personally and professionally, in order for you to provide the highest standard of professional care to your clients.

I understand that just as clients may find it difficult to find a counsellor that is a good fit for them; counsellors may also experience this when looking for a supervisor. Therefore, I offer a free 20 minute online consultation where we can discuss what you would like to gain from supervision and you can ask any questions you have about me and my way of working.

Fees:

  • Free 20 minute consultation via Zoom.
  • £70.00 for a 50 minute counselling session via Zoom.
  • £80.00 for a 50 minute counselling session Face to Face.

Concessions available for Trainee Counsellors.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
