About me

Starting counselling can feel like a big step and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply aware that something doesn’t feel quite right. Whatever brings you here, you’re welcome just as you are.

This is a space for you, at your pace.

My Approach

I’m an integrative counsellor with over 5 years experience. My way of working has a foundation in a humanistic existential approach. In practice, this means I see you as a whole person with your own unique experiences, strengths and ways of making sense of the world.

My approach is flexible, which means we can draw on different ways of working depending on what feels helpful for you. Whether you want to focus on finding practical solutions, understanding patterns from your past, or simply exploring your thoughts and feelings in a safe space, we can shape our sessions around your needs.

I will meet you with warmth and care, helping you to understand yourself more deeply and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Our work might include:

  • Making sense of your thoughts and feelings
  • Exploring patterns or experiences that feel important
  • Finding ways to feel more grounded, confident, or connected
  • Creating space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted

What You Can Expect

I am currently offering sessions online, but will be extending this to in person in CF5 around June.

I aim to offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to talk openly.

You are in control of what we explore and how we go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will walk alongside you with empathy and respect, supporting you in a way that feels collaborative rather than directive.

Whatever you’re going through, you deserve to feel listened to and supported.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 5 CPCAB Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • Level 2 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • The Rewind Technique

My experience includes both longer-term and time-limited counselling. At Mind, I worked with clients for up to 16 sessions, allowing for more in-depth exploration of a wide range of issues.

Alongside this, I have delivered brief, Employee Assistant programs (EAP) style interventions (typically six sessions), offering focused and structured support for clients seeking to address specific concerns in a shorter timeframe.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer a free 20-minute initial conversation. This is a gentle, no-pressure space for us to meet, talk a little about what’s bringing you to counselling, and see how it feels to connect.

You’re welcome to ask any questions, and there’s no obligation to continue, just an opportunity to take that first step in a way that feels comfortable for you.
