About me
Devon Nature Counselling - Nature Based Therapy
My name is Vicky and I am an integrative counsellor offering walk and talk therapy on private land in the heart of Mid Devon. Just 10 minutes from Crediton, 15 minutes from Tiverton and 30 minutes from central Exeter.
Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or simply looking for a space to reflect and grow, my goal is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to explore your emotions.
The combination of physical movement and the calming influence of nature can make it easier to talk openly and find new perspectives.
Although I am an advocate for walk and talk counselling sessions, I realise this won’t always be easy for some clients. So, if you still wish to sit in nature for your session, without the walking - then do let me know as there are plenty of easily accessible private outdoor spaces we can sit.
Also, I am very happy to offer online sessions as an alternative.
Training, qualifications & experience
Training:
I have trained over the last five years to become an Integrative Counsellor, weaving in my life experience and previous roles working with people, which has helped so much.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Adv.Dip).
- I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such abide by their Ethical Framework. (MBACP)
- Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) basic practitioner course - level 1
- Certificate in Counselling
- Online and telephone counselling
Experience:
I worked for the Iron Mill Counselling Agency as a counsellor before setting up my private practice, which allowed me to gain a huge amount of experience working with a variety of different clients.
Combining my in-room experience with forest bathing has helped me to develop a way of working in nature, whilst still offering you a safe place to explore your thoughts and emotions.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Please note that the land is only accessible by car, but there is plenty of free parking and a loo available.
Given that we will be walking outside, please dress according to the weather that day, bringing any necessary extras like a sun hat or raincoat and wellies.
If you own a well-behaved dog, then you are welcome to bring them with you to your sessions. Please let me know if you would like to bring your dog.
Nature based therapy can take many forms, but for me, taking sessions outside the traditional therapy room and into the outside world can not only help you to gain fresh insights, but also, reconnect with the healing power of nature.
Please see some further information about how I work on my website.
