About me

Supporting women through burnout, anxiety, ADHD, loss and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be exhausted from caring for others, struggling with work or family life, or carrying experiences from your past that still affect you today. Perhaps you’ve been telling yourself to “just keep going”, but it’s becoming harder to cope alone.

I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can speak openly without judgement. Together we’ll explore your experiences, helping you understand yourself more deeply and find a way forward that feels right for you.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, honesty and respect, creating a relationship where you feel heard, accepted and supported.

I have a particular interest in working with women, especially those who have spent much of their lives caring for others. Many of my clients are experiencing burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work, relationships and family life.

I also support people in caring professions, those affected by difficult childhood experiences, family abuse and trauma, women with ADHD, and those navigating pregnancy, pregnancy loss or stillbirth.

Sessions take place in a comfortable counselling room near Byres Road in Glasgow or online. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on what matters most.

I am a registered member of the BACP, work within its Ethical Framework and am committed to providing a safe, ethical and compassionate service.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

Before becoming a counsellor, I enjoyed a varied career spanning over 20 years, working in education and supporting children, young people and adults. As an experienced primary teacher, I developed a deep understanding of how life’s experiences, relationships and challenges can shape emotional wellbeing from an early age.

Alongside teaching, I have worked with charities and schools, supporting both young people and adults through a range of personal and emotional difficulties. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of the challenges people face at different stages of life and continue to inform my therapeutic practice.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Merit) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) - Primary Teaching. I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake additional training to ensure my practice remains ethical, informed and responsive to the needs of my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my aim is to offer a calm, welcoming space where you feel safe to be yourself without judgement or expectation.

I work from a comfortable, confidential counselling room near Byres Road in Glasgow, providing a place where you can step away from the pressures of everyday life and focus on what matters most to you. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling with a particular issue, or simply know that something doesn’t feel right, we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that being truly heard and accepted can be the beginning of meaningful change. Rather than offering advice or telling you what to do, I will work alongside you with empathy, honesty and compassion, supporting you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.

Every person’s story is unique, so I tailor our work to your individual needs. Some clients come with a clear focus, while others need time to explore their thoughts and feelings before understanding what they need. However you arrive, you will be met with warmth, respect and acceptance.

I am a registered member of the BACP and work within its Ethical Framework. I hold full professional indemnity insurance and regularly undertake continuing professional development to ensure my practice remains ethical, professional and informed.

Finding the right therapist is important. I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, discuss what has brought you to therapy and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

I know that reaching out takes courage, and if you decide to contact me, you will be met with kindness, compassion and a genuine commitment to supporting you.
