About me
I’m Veena, a qualified integrative counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am also a member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), reflecting my commitment to culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic practice.
I offer counselling to adults and young people in Coventry and online across the UK.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, the impact of chronic health conditions, or struggling with experiences connected to culture, identity or belonging.
My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. Person-centred values are at the heart of my integrative practice, alongside psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches. I believe counselling should be shaped around you, your experiences and what you need from therapy.
I have particular experience and interest in trauma, sexual and domestic abuse, chronic health conditions, cultural identity, anxiety, low self-esteem and neurodiversity.
At Grounded Path Counselling, I aim to provide a space where you can feel heard and understood, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and begin to make sense of experiences or patterns that may be affecting your life.
I offer face-to-face counselling in Coventry and online counselling across the UK.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship from the University of Warwick, and I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My training is integrative, with person-centred values at its core and informed by psychodynamic thinking. I also work in a trauma-informed way and draw on grounding, psychoeducation and creative approaches where appropriate.
My counselling experience includes working with adults and young people across specialist sexual violence services, schools and community settings.
I have supported clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, sexual and domestic abuse, chronic health conditions and the impact of difficult childhood and life experiences.
My academic research has also explored the experiences of counsellors living with chronic health conditions and how these experiences can influence therapeutic work and relationships.
I am committed to culturally sensitive, neurodivergent-affirming, and inclusive practice and undertake ongoing professional development as part of my work.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
