About us

Are you looking for therapy that doesn’t cost the earth, but still feels steady and properly supported?

Our sessions are offered on a sliding scale, starting at £20, based on your household income. We work weekly and hold the same time for you each week, so you have a consistent, reliable space to be supported.

We don’t offer fortnightly or occasional sessions. Regular therapy helps build trust, safety, and momentum.

Therapy sessions

Up to £20,000 household income: £20
Up to £30,000: £30
Up to £40,000: £40
Up to £50,000: £50
Over £50,000: fees discussed during assessment

Initial assessment

Up to £20,000: £20
Up to £30,000: £30
£40,000 and above: £40

To keep this fair, we’ll ask for proof of income or benefits at your first online assessment. If you’re living with significant debt, please let us know. We’ll take this into account.

If you would prefer to work with a qualified therapist at a higher fee, that option is available.

After you get in touch, we’ll invite you to an online assessment to talk through what’s been going on for you and what you’re hoping for from therapy. We’ll then match you carefully with a therapist we feel is a good fit and offer you a regular weekly slot.

Value You Therapy is a community interest company set up by Aurelia and Tina, both qualified psychotherapists. We created the service because we wanted therapy to feel reachable, not intimidating or financially out of bounds.

All our therapists are thoughtfully selected and supported with strong, ethical supervision, so you can feel held and taken seriously from the start.

If you’re looking for low-cost therapy that feels steady, kind, and properly supported, you’re very welcome here.

Training, qualifications & experience

All our therapists are in the final years of their core therapy training. Many have been training for several years and bring a wealth of life and professional experience alongside their studies.

They come to therapy from rich and varied backgrounds. Many have previously worked in demanding, people-focused roles such as charities, leadership and management, health, education, and community services. This means they bring maturity, empathy, and a strong understanding of responsibility and care into the therapy room.

Every therapist is carefully selected and works within clear ethical frameworks. The service is supported by robust governance, policies, and procedures to ensure safety, accountability, and consistency of care.

Therapists receive regular, expert supervision, so your therapy is always supported, reflected on, and thoughtfully held. You are never working with someone in isolation.

Our aim is to offer therapy that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely caring, while remaining accessible and affordable.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
