About me

I work with young people and adults from my comfortable room in Durham (DH1) and online across the UK who may be experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, overwhelm, or difficulties understanding their emotions. You might find yourself overthinking, struggling with confidence, feeling stuck, or finding day-to-day life harder than usual. Counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to explore what is happening for you and find a way forward.

As a neurodivergent counsellor, I offer a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming approach where you can feel understood, accepted, and supported as you make sense of your experiences and find what helps you.

How I Work
I work in a client-centred way, going at your pace and focusing on what feels most important to you. I draw on psychoeducation, CBT-informed ideas, and mindfulness to support understanding, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. With children and young people, I use play and creative-based approaches to make therapy more accessible and engaging.

Introductory Call

l offer a free 15-minute introductory call where we can explore what you’re looking for, talk through how we might work together, and answer any questions you may have. This gives you a chance to see whether I feel like the right counsellor for you before deciding to begin therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and registered Therapeutic Counsellor. I also hold a degree in Healthcare Practice, along with additional training in mindfulness and energy practices such as EFT, meditation and breathwork, which support the processing of stuck feelings, and emotions.

I bring several years of experience supporting adults and young people across educational, charitable, and private settings.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
