About me

Working psychoanalytically, relationally and using EMDR practices

Beginning can be a difficult step, but it is a brave one. Please feel free to email me to set up an introductory meeting where we can meet each other and begin to discuss how therapy might work for you. That is really, how we might work together. This meeting is open ended and as an initial consultation, I don’t charge for this.

We would usually work together weekly or twice weekly, depending on your own needs. This would be discussed with you. We work confidentially in my consultation room in Chesterton which is on bus routes, has nearby parking for car and safe bicycle parking.

The kind of work I undertake is usually longer term work and is diverse in nature and need. It makes use of EMDR practices embedded into psychotherapeutic work which is analytically informed. Perhaps what might bring someone to therapy could be a range of things including personal pain, loss, disquiet, discomfort, fear or changing circumstances.

I am UKCP certified and abide by their codes of ethics behaviour and communication and policies.

I profoundly understand the bravery it takes to begin this work.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training is through Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy, a rigorous humanistic thoughtful training. This is very focused on listening to the person we are working with; with care, attention and thought.

My work integrates my training in both talking therapy and  my training in EMDR which together can be explorative and healing.

In addition, my work draws on decades of my working with creative people trying to resolve creative impasse, and their own relationship with creative practices.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

The room I work in has level access and is on public transport routes. There is on street parking and the street and secure bicycle parking.
