About me

You may appear to be coping on the outside, but privately find yourself struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, low self-esteem or repeating the same frustrating patterns in relationships.

Perhaps you put pressure on yourself to get things right, find it difficult to switch off, or spend a lot of time worrying about what others think of you. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure why the same difficulties keep showing up in different areas of your life.

Therapy can help you understand why these patterns developed and, importantly, why they don’t have to continue. As you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, it becomes possible to feel calmer, more confident and less controlled by old ways of thinking and relating.

I also work with adults who are diagnosed with ADHD, awaiting assessment, or beginning to explore whether they may be neurodivergent. Many describe feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood or constantly questioning themselves. Therapy can provide a space to better understand these experiences, recognise your strengths and challenges, and develop greater self-compassion.

As a psychodynamic therapist, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, self-criticism, relationship difficulties and the emotional impact of earlier life experiences. Together we’ll explore not only what is happening in your life now, but also how your past may continue to shape how you feel about yourself and others today.

I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about what is troubling you. My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences, develop greater self-understanding and create meaningful, lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms.

If you’re considering counselling, I also offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, specialising in psychodynamic therapy.

Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting adults with anxiety, low self-esteem, overthinking, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, ADHD, and the lasting impact of earlier life experiences. I also understand how living with a long-term health condition can affect emotional wellbeing, and how physical and psychological challenges often influence one another.

My aim is not simply to help you manage symptoms, but to help you understand why you feel the way you do. By exploring the patterns, relationships and experiences that have shaped you, therapy can help you become less self-critical, build greater confidence and make lasting changes in the way you relate to yourself and others.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, attend regular clinical supervision and undertake ongoing professional development to ensure my practice remains safe, ethical and effective.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Taking the First Step

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never spoken to a counsellor before or you’re used to coping with things on your own. My aim is to make the process feel as straightforward and comfortable as possible from the very beginning.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call where you can tell me a little about what’s been happening, ask any questions and get a sense of how I work. There’s no obligation to book a session afterwards.

How I Work

I offer therapy in person from my practice in Glasgow’s West End and online across the UK.

My role isn’t to give advice or quick fixes. Instead, I provide a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of what’s happening together.

Many people come feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck or wondering why they keep repeating the same emotional or relationship patterns despite wanting things to change. By understanding where these patterns come from, therapy can help you become less self-critical, feel more confident and respond differently to life’s challenges.

Some people come with a specific issue they’d like to work through, while others want to understand themselves more deeply. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you and decide together what approach best suits your needs.

If you’re wondering whether therapy could help, I’d be pleased to hear from you.
