About us

The Counselling Partnership is an independent charity based in Elmbridge providing affordable, professional one-to-one counselling for adults. 

Our counsellors can help adults with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, work-life balance, trauma, relationship problems, bereavement, and more.  

As a charity, we are committed to providing affordable, accessible counselling to those who need it most:

  • No long waiting lists  
  • From a few weeks up to a year of support
  • Self-referral
  • Affordable sessions (weekly donations based on your circumstances)  
  • Available in person in Walton-on-Thames and Woking, or online  

We are an organisational member of the BACP and our Counsellors are members of the BACP or UKCP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UK Council for Psychotherapy).

Training, qualifications & experience

Our counsellors are either fully qualified or in the final stage of their training, where they hold a certificate of proficiency that allows them to work with clients in agency settings.

The Counselling Partnership is a Registered Organisational member of the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP).

Additional information

As a charity, we are committed to making high-quality counselling accessible to those who need it.

While private therapy typically costs £60–£110 per session, we simply ask for a donation to help cover our costs.

  • Initial consultation: Suggested contribution of £35
  • Ongoing counselling sessions: Contributions will be agreed during your initial consultation based on what’s manageable for you. We ask clients to contribute a minimum of £35 per session where possible.
