About me
Hello, my name is Tara.
Life can be a struggle at times and I know it can feel like a brave step to ask for help, especially when we feel fragile or vulnerable.
I care passionately about my clients and our work together. As a qualified, integrative counsellor I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor the session and therapy to your individual needs.
Sessions are confidential and take place in a non judgemental environment where you will be treated with respect and warmth.
Whatever the issue, whether it be more specific, such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, bereavement or family issues, there is hope, and change is possible.
Together we can explore and begin to make sense of what is going on for you.
The benefits of counselling can be life changing. I am a great believer in our own individual power to overcome our difficulties and in turn grow into the person we truly are, and deserve to be.
Training, qualifications & experience
I offer a free telephone consultation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals and how we can work together during the process.
If this sounds like it could be the right fit for you then please feel free to get in touch.
I am a member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework which ensures that you receive safe and professional therapy. I am fully insured and I have regular, continued professional development.
As well as my own private practise, I work for Westmeria counselling services in Bickley, BR3.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
