BACP Accredited Integrative Therapist | Trauma Informed

About me

Hi, I’m Tania, a BACP-accredited integrative and trauma-informed counsellor offering in-person therapy in Haggerston (E8) and Highbury (N5), as well as online sessions.

I support people experiencing anxiety, trauma, relational difficulties, and emotional overwhelm, helping them make sense of their experiences and feel less alone with what they are carrying. I also work with people exploring identity, race, culture, sexuality and belonging, and how these experiences can shape emotional wellbeing. I offer a warm, thoughtful and non-judgmental space where we can gently explore what you are going through.

My approach is relational and integrative, meaning I adapt therapy to your individual needs rather than using a single fixed method. Together we develop a collaborative therapeutic relationship, drawing on approaches that can help deepen understanding, strengthen resilience, and support meaningful change.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you are speaking about things that may feel difficult to name or have never shared before. I hold this in mind and work at a pace that feels safe, thoughtful and manageable.

Often, meaningful change begins with the experience of being listened to, understood and supported in a new way.

How I work:

As an integrative therapist, my work is relational, holistic, and grounded in genuine curiosity about you as a whole person. Our sessions are guided by what you bring to therapy, with an openness to what may sit beneath the surface.

At the heart of this is a person-centred approach, focusing on empathy, acceptance, and a relationship where you feel seen, heard, and understood. I also draw on psychodynamic thinking, helping us understand how past experiences and relationships continue to shape the present. Alongside this, humanistic principles guide the work, supporting your capacity for growth, self-awareness, and agency.

In sessions, you can expect me to listen closely, reflect with you, ask thoughtful questions, and explore patterns together. Sometimes we may slow things down to notice what is happening in the moment; at other times, making connections across your experiences.

Working with trauma:

When working with trauma, I prioritise safety, stabilisation, and pacing. Trauma can be held in memory, body, and nervous system, meaning revisiting experiences may feel overwhelming. Where helpful, I incorporate grounding, breathwork, and body awareness so therapy remains supportive and manageable.

I can help you with:

  • Building emotional resilience and understanding difficult feelings
  • Healing trauma
  • Understanding patterns shaped by earlier experiences
  • Creating healthy boundaries
  • Improving relationship dynamics
  • Exploring meaning, purpose, and personal growth

Inclusivity and ethics:

I remain attentive to diversity, culture, power, and lived experience, recognising how social context shapes wellbeing. As a BACP Accredited member, I work within its ethical framework and maintain insurance and data protection to safeguard confidentiality.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BACP Accredited Therapeutic Counsellor / Psychotherapist
  • Level 4 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (BACP accredited training)
  • Advanced Certificate in Somatic Trauma Theory and Skills

My training supports me to work in a trauma-informed and relational way, helping clients explore emotional distress, relational patterns and difficult experiences with care and understanding.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer open-ended (not limited to a set number of sessions) and short-term therapy, online or in person. Throughout our work together, I will check in and offer reviews, so our work remains focused on what feels important.

Sessions are 50 minutes long. My fee is £70 for in-person sessions, or £65 for online sessions. I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces when available.

It's important to find the right therapist so I offer  an initial consultation, a free 20 –30 minute phone call or zoom to talk about what you’re looking for from therapy, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of how I work.
