About me

Hello, I’m Suzanne, and thank you for looking at my profile. I’m a person-centred counsellor specialising in anxiety, depression, childhood trauma and recovery from unhealthy relationships.

Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck or not quite good enough, despite doing their best to cope. Often these feelings are rooted in earlier life experiences, difficult relationships, or the additional pressures of being neurodivergent in a world that doesn’t always understand.

I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore what’s behind these feelings, understand where you feel stuck, and begin to move towards a more hopeful future.

I have a strong understanding of the mind–body connection and how emotional stress can show up physically. I also work with neurodivergent adults and understand how exhausting it can be to navigate a world that doesn’t always accommodate different ways of thinking and being. Together, we can develop strategies that feel supportive and manageable, rather than overwhelming.

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with a charity supporting those recovering from unsafe or controlling relationships.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. Feeling truly heard and understood creates the safety needed to explore your experiences without shame or pressure. I believe deeply in the healing power of authentic human connection.

You are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your strengths so that you can create meaningful and lasting change. In our work together, you will be seen as a whole person — not just the parts that feel broken.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I work from a counselling room in my home, which is a safe and comfortable space to help you feel relaxed in a face-to-face environment.

I can also provide online counselling with some availability in the evening and weekends.

If you like, I can offer a free 20-minute online or phone consultation, which gives you the opportunity to express why you are seeking therapy and to discuss your goals. This consultation also allows us to find out about each other and to see if we could work together and does not bind you to starting therapy.

I can offer weekly sessions or something more suitable to your needs, such as a single session, 6 sessions or for as long as you feel you need them.
