About me
Coming to counselling may feel daunting however I'm here to offer a safe, nurturing space for you to explore and express difficult thoughts, experiences and emotions. Whether it’s relationship difficulties; professional challenges; struggles with loss or bereavements, life's challenges can often feel overwhelming, leaving you feeling anxious, depressed or just stuck. Having an empathetic, non-judgmental professional to talk through these issues with can help you gain a different perspective. I provide the space to understand you and your needs better and to gain clarity on how you hope to move forward.
My approach is integrative which means I use different models of therapy - tailored to what you need. This may involve looking at your past as well as focusing on the present and understanding how the two relate. My passion lies in creating a warm, confidential space to work through your issues and explore ways to manage difficult emotions and feelings. I believe client autonomy is essential so I work at your pace, supporting you in developing the confidence you need to thrive. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and understood, and to empower you to live a more authentic life by accessing your inner strength and resilience to facilitate positive change and growth.
I am passionate about issues relating to cross-cultural identities. My experiences in life have helped me understand that identity and culture play a significant role in shaping our experiences and perspectives. I understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities and the challenges that this can bring. I work with you to explore how these factors impact your life, and support you in finding ways to authentically express yourself. My journey has taught me the value of compassion, empathy, and self-awareness and I have learnt that growth and healing are possible, and I am committed to supporting you on your own path.
My experience has included working with many clients who face the difficulties of multicultural identities whether it relates to religion, ethnicity or sexuality. I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and respected.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor who has worked as an NHS Talking Therapies counsellor (IAPT) for over 18 months. I supported clients in building confidence and self-esteem through developing stronger boundaries, improving emotional resilience or by identifying behavioural patterns. I have also worked with women who have suffered domestic abuse and therefore understand the complexities of relationships involving coercive control and abuse. Additionally I have experience working as a counsellor at a cancer support charity providing counselling services for individuals who have had cancer or for their carers.
My expertise extends to working with clients from diverse demographics and backgrounds. I understand each client has unique needs and goals so I work collaboratively to understand what might be best for you to navigate these challenges.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
