About me
Counselling in York - Support for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, ADHD & Autism Life can sometimes be overwhelming. You might find yourself stuck in cycles of overthinking, battling not feeling 'good enough' or processing a bereavement. Perhaps you’re living with anxiety, OCD, depression, low self-esteem/ confidence or the effects of trauma. Or maybe you’re navigating the world with ADHD or autism and feeling misunderstood or burnt out. Whatever's brought you here, counselling can give you the space to pause, untangle what’s going on and start to become more grounded.
I’m a BACP-registered, neuro-affirmative counsellor based in York. I offer a calm, supportive environment where you can talk openly, without judgement. Together, we can look at the thoughts, feelings and patterns that are holding you back, and work towards a more connected version of yourself.
My Approach
You don’t need to be in crisis to have counselling. Many people arrive drained, stuck or unsure why things feel so hard. I work in a gentle, down-to-earth way, always at your pace, and won’t rush you to share more than you’re ready for; building trust is an important part of our sessions.
My practice is relational and trauma-informed, rooted in humanistic therapy while integrating parts work, CBT and other appropriate modalities. For neurodivergent clients, I adapt to your communication needs and lived experiences.
Practicalities
I offer in-person counselling in central York and online sessions across the UK. Appointments are available weekdays and evenings, with both short and longer-term options depending on what you need. To help you decide if I’m the right fit for you, we can set-up a free 15-minute phone or video consultation.
What Clients Often Notice
People often begin therapy feeling disconnected and unsure. Over time, they describe feeling more balanced and aware, less reactive and better able to make choices that are more authentic to them. My role is to walk alongside you as we make sense of things, offering care, containment and empathy throughout.
Ready to Begin?

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
