About me
Hello, I’m Stuart!
**Introductory offer for first 3 sessions**
Thank you for making this decision and clicking onto my page - I'm really pleased you have and for me, this is taking the first step towards feeling better and getting through things - whatever those might be. To introduce myself; I'm a Counsellor & Therapist proudly working with Individuals & Relationships locally in the Cornish town of St.Columb Major and Newquay (I can see you in both) and remote via video/ phone (I also offer walks!).
I've over 5 years experience as a Private Therapist, Online Therapist and Wellbeing Worker. I have knowledge across different fields and subjects, with people from all walks of life, working in a variety of ways - mostly specialising in the depth of areas such as; our sense of self and direction, our human behaviors and their patterns/origins and frameworks, relationships, addiction, anxiety, traumas, loss and of course communication.
I believe and hope that, with the environment I provide, we will be able to move through what you are / have been experiencing and be able to find a sense of clarity, understanding and ultimately and ability to walk forwards.
About me..
I’m 43, married and a Father of 4 (2 are human!). I've been divorced, experienced trauma, had times of high and real low points -tussled with mental health, been in love, suffered heartbreak and caused pain myself. I can live with an anxious mind and have experienced it's restrictive and awakening power.
I’m a real person, with a real story.
I'm a Person Centered Therapist and describe myself as active and adaptive in my style - this means that I will try to offer you the right environment and conditions, support and guidance to find the key to your own potential and I will also look to offer alternatives and challenges to things that feel like they get in the way.
I believe that building a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship is a strong foundation in achieving growth and change.
We all need to be heard sometimes, so please feel welcomed to message me and find out more, or to book a session.

I am Qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor & Therapist (Somewhere in you, you know your own truth and can discover it with a little help from me), with a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) recognised Diploma.
I also have experience working with suicide crisis, and have a recognised training and qualification, ASIST.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
