About me
We all need the time and space to offload sometimes as we sometimes struggle with the impact of life events.
If you are struggling emotionally with whatever life has thrown at you, and feel that you are reaching your crisis point, perhaps feeling fragile, vulnerable, or overwhelmed, then you have made the first steps in acknowledging it and seeking help.
I can offer you that non-judgemental peaceful, space and time to explore your thoughts feelings and emotions.
As an Integrative therapist with over twenty years’ experience, I draw on elements of various therapeutic techniques or models, individually tailored to suit my client’s unique needs, rather than a one size fits all approach.
After graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Durham University, my career as a Counsellor began with Northumberland County Blind Association and Northumbria Sight Services. Being part of a team (including Consultant’s GP’s, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and the RNIB Liaison Officer at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne), my role being to provide emotional support to those clients suffering from the effects of partial or total sight loss and helping them to regain their confidence and live independently in their own homes.
I did take a break from my role as a Counsellor and moved with my family to Durham due to being a carer for relatives with life limiting illnesses, so am aware and have experienced of the effects, pressures and impacts of long-term caring.
Since my return several years ago, I have been a counsellor to Students and University Staff, members of the Emergency Services, Caring, Teaching, Veterinary, Legal, Ecclesiastical professions, as well as Military Veterans and the Farming community. I also continue to work with Neurodiverse clients
However, whatever your role, I am here to listen and share and support you on your journey, giving you the opportunity to effect positive change and growth with care and compassion.
I can offer either Face to Face, or online counselling.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
