Gaining the confidence to reach out and look for help and support is hard. We easily lose belief in ourselves, and finding support to unravel the complexities of our lives and relationships can feel like an almost impossible task. With counselling, you are not alone, and don't need to feel lost. There is a space for you to talk and unravel the knots, be that for you as an individual or for you as a couple.
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor and COSRT trained Couples Counsellor working with individuals and couples from my counselling space in Tunbridge Wells. I work with clients who are in need of support in their lives, and couples looking to work on communication, intimacy and connection.
You are here looking for support because there is something challenging you in your life, something that is blocking you from leading the life you want. The very fact that you are looking for help and support shows a desire to make a change. I work with you to explore that change, what it looks like, and how to find it within yourself.
There is no magic wand for counselling, but the answers are there within you, even though it might not feel like it. Together we explore what those answers are, and where to look for them.
"I cannot overstate the hugely positive impact Steve's counselling has had on me."
"The sessions allowed me the time and space I needed to explore the questions and answers that I was seeking"
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative relational counsellor focusing on psychosocial and psychosexual development and a COSRT registered couples counsellor.
I am also a qualified and registered Yoga teacher and can teach breathwork and meditation techniques that can compliment your therapeutic journey. I've found this to be really useful for clients, particularly as a support for anxiety.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
