About me
Psychologist, therapist, university lecturer, teacher.
Take the first step and reach out to me whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, ADHD, OCD, autism or other worries. We will explore your needs and see if we’re a good fit.
I offer a supportive environment where the sessions are shaped by your needs. No concern is too small or too large, whatever you want to bring to the sessions is entirely up to you. I will deploy a range of approaches in our sessions drawn from person centred therapy, CBT, psychodynamic and other modalities to ensure you are helped in a way that best suits you as an individual.
Background:
I am a qualified BACP therapist, and currently completing a doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I am also a university lecturer in psychology, teaching undergraduates and postgraduates on a range of modules including psychological disorders, psychology, nutrition, and health psychophysiology. Furthermore, I am a qualified educational mental health practitioner. During my time as a therapist, I have worked with clients who have suffered with anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism, stress, burnout, and bereavement. I have worked with clients who have been in the music industry, the financial world, lawyers, teachers, students (11-18), scientists, civil servants, engineers, and retail and sales workers. Therefore, the totality of my experience has enabled me to help young people, as well as adults of all ages. I am also a qualified teacher, and work part-time as a head of department in psychology and sociology.
The first session:
The first session helps to gather key information about your concerns and worries, as well as find out where your strengths are, both personally but also in terms of your relationships with friends and family. By the end of the first session, we will both have a clearer picture as to whether we should continue these sessions further.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
