About me

Hello, I’m Steffi.
I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor offering a compassionate, collaborative space where you can slow down, feel truly heard, and explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, lost in grief, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you’re tired of holding it all together or navigating life behind a mask. You may not be sure why certain feelings or behaviours keep showing up. Whether you're wrestling with shame, identity questions, relational struggles, or a deep, unspoken pain, I welcome all parts of you, even the ones that feel messy, hidden, or hard to name.

Clients often come to me when they’re tired of censoring themselves, or when they’re facing things that feel too big to process alone like childhood trauma, struggles with intimacy and trust, or complex grief. Some simply have a sense that something’s not quite right and want space to make sense of it.

How I Work

I am an integrative therapist, blending different approaches to suit your needs. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I don’t offer quick fixes or generic advice. I support you in gaining self-awareness and making meaningful, lasting changes. At times, I may gently challenge perspectives or invite you to sit with discomfort, always with the goal of helping you grow.

Who I Work With

I work with adults from all walks of life, especially those who have spent a long time being the strong one, the outsider, or the one quietly holding everything (and everyone) together.

I hold particular interest in supporting:

  • People moving through grief and loss including bereavement, pregnancy loss, or the more invisible losses of identity, time, or connection
  • Those navigating the perinatal journey including fertility struggles, birth trauma, early parenthood, and the emotional shifts that surround it
  • Individuals exploring sex, intimacy, and trust whether in the aftermath of abuse or as part of self-discovery
  • Neurodivergent adults especially those who mask, over-function, or feel chronically misunderstood
  • Anyone wrestling with anxiety, low mood, shame, or low self-worth
  • Those feeling stuck, burnt out, depressed or unsure of who they are anymore

Above all, I work with people who are ready to be met with care, honesty, and curiosity. Who want to feel more whole, more connected to themselves, and more fulfilled.

Next Steps

Finding the right therapist is important, which is why I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call to see if we’re a good fit. If you’re ready to take the next step, I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey toward becoming a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor was inspired by my own positive experience with counselling and my work in crisis support at MIND.

I am an integrative therapist, blending different approaches to suit your needs.

  • Person-centred & relational – A warm, trusting space where you feel heard, valued, and understood.
  • Psychodynamic insight – Together we’ll explore how early relationships, unconscious patterns, and your symbolic inner life may be shaping your current experience, helping you deepen self-understanding and discover new meaning.
  • Transactional Analysis – Understanding relational dynamics to improve communication and connection.
  • Gestalt approach – Exploring how you're showing up in the present moment to increase self-awareness and open up new possibilities for choice, change, and authentic living.
  • Creative techniques – Using imagery, metaphor, and expressive methods to access deeper emotions.
  • CBT-based strategies – Practical tools to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and build resilience.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
