About me

Hi, I’m Stefani - an experienced therapist with a warm, conversational style that clients often describe as easy to connect with.

I work with a broad range of issues, but particularly:

  • Anxiety: racing thoughts, overwhelm, constant worry, nervous tension
  • Low Self-Esteem: people-pleasing, self-criticism, feeling undervalued or taken advantage of
  • OCD: intrusive thoughts or images, compulsions or rituals that feel confusing or exhausting
  • Other Challenges: feeling “out of control,” perfectionism, fear of confrontation, overachieving in some areas while life feels chaotic in others, Addictions, challenges of living with Neurodiversity or differences in thinking and sensory experience, and diverse identities or cultural experiences.

Therapy can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface of these patterns - especially when you’ve tried to manage alone and it just feels overwhelming. Together, we’ll explore what’s driving your stress or anxiety and find ways to feel steadier, calmer, and more confident.

My Approach: I’m a Transpersonal Integrative Therapist, working with the whole person - emotions, thoughts, behaviours, creative expression, & body- or imagination-based approaches - alongside traditional therapy methods (e.g., exploring early life patterns, CBT) & trauma-informed practices.

Working this way may include:

Deepening Self-Understanding: recognising different sides of yourself - e.g. the critical, protective, ambitious, or playful parts - and understanding how they developed. Learning to respond to them with calm & understanding, eases inner conflict and helps you feel more integrated.

Managing Anxiety and OCD: exploring strategies to regulate emotions, manage overwhelm and using CBT and other evidence-informed approaches to support coping and reduce anxiety-driven responses.

Building Self-Esteem and Confidence: connecting with your authentic self - the part of you beneath wounding or conditioning - and learning to respond to life in ways that feel natural and true.

Exploring Unspoken or Difficult Conversations to Help You Find Your Voice: Creating room to express what has felt too risky, painful, or silenced - so you can voice what’s been held back and process it safely.

Creative and Experiential Work: using tools such as drawing, writing, bodywork, voice, sound, or visualisation to express what’s hard to say, access insight, or support change.

Everything is tailored to you, and we work collaboratively to find the best approach to suit your needs.

Voice & sound:

In addition to training with sound on the Diploma at CCPE, I have worked closely with Dr Nadine George and her ‘Nadine George Voice Work’ technique. The work is original, using sung sound and linking this directly to the body and text work. Dr George primarily devised her method for actors but has gone on to work with a wide range of people, such as mental health professionals. I have attended workshops and one-to-one sessions with Dr George and have incorporated aspects of her technique into my practice.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Whilst I have worked with a broad spectrum of issues and concerns, I have particular experience working with:

  • Low self esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency  -this term is perhaps not so familiar if you are new to therapy but some key characteristics are: people pleasing, taking too much responsibility in any relationship (especially where one party is an addict or has destructive tendencies and the other party suffers from excessive caretaking/controlling), unhealthy boundaries, over dependency, low self-esteem, poor self-care, minimising or being unable to identify your needs.
  • OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) is usually characterised as experiencing distressing unwanted thoughts, images or impulses (obsessions) which you may respond to repeatedly with rituals -either thoughts or actions- (compulsions) in an attempt to control the anxiety.
  • Addiction (whether you are the person suffering or in close proximity to someone suffering)
