About me

I’m Stacie, a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor based in Bishop’s Stortford, supporting children, young people and adults.

I’ve worked within counselling and mental health for a number of years, and one of the things I love most about my work is being able to offer people a space where they can simply be themselves - without judgement, pressure, or having to pretend that everything is okay.

I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a really big step. You might not even know exactly what you need help with, and that’s completely okay. My role isn’t to tell you what to do, but to listen, understand, and work alongside you at your own pace.

I take an individual and compassionate approach because no two people, or their experiences, are the same. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, confidence, relationships, difficult experiences, emotions, or simply feeling that life has become a little overwhelming, counselling can provide a safe space to explore what’s going on.

I’m really passionate about creating a warm, safe and trusting environment where people feel heard, understood and valued.

ASP Counselling is something I’m incredibly proud to have created, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about my work, counselling, mental health, and helpful resources here.

If you’re considering counselling and would like to know a little more about how I work, please feel free to get in touch.

Thank you for being here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

About me

Hello, I’m Stacie, an integrative counsellor and the person behind ASP Counselling.

I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a really big step. You may not even know exactly what you need help with, or you may have been putting it off for a while. Whatever has brought you here, I want you to know that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you come to counselling.

I am person-centred trained and work integratively, which means I adapt my approach to you as an individual. There is no judgement, no pressure, and no expectation that you have to talk about anything before you feel ready. My priority is creating a safe, trusting relationship where you can feel listened to, understood and accepted for who you are.

I work with children from the age of 5, young people and adults. I particularly enjoy working with children and young people and understand that finding the right person for your child can feel daunting. I aim to create a space where they can feel comfortable, build trust, and express themselves in a way that feels natural to them.

I also work with adults who may be experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, difficult emotions, relationship difficulties, life changes or simply feel that life has become a little too much. Sometimes we just need somewhere safe to put everything down for a while.

I have worked as a counsellor within a school setting for several years, supporting children and young people with a wide range of difficulties, and I also offer counselling privately.

If you’re considering counselling but feeling unsure about taking that first step, please know that you don’t have to know exactly what to say. We can start simply with a conversation about what is happening for you and see where it takes us.

My counselling room is accessed by a flight of stairs and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

If you feel I may be the right counsellor for you or your child, I would be very happy to hear from you.
