About me

I am a BACP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor offering individual therapy sessions to adults. I am a person centered therapist and draw upon transactional analysis. I specialise in anxiety, depression, stress & low self-esteem. My therapeutic approach is neurodiversity affirming.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and taking that first step often comes with uncertainty. I strive to provide a supportive space where you can express yourself, explore the challenges you're facing, and reflect on the questions that matter most to you.

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process.  The core conditions of person centered counselling are empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. I use these to offer a space where difficulties can be explored with compassion and understanding for each individual’s life experiences. Together, we will navigate your journey at your pace. I listen with curiosity and empathy, offering reflections while holding the belief that you possess the inner resources to create meaningful change.

My approach is holistic and tailored to each individual. I respond with empathy to what arises in our sessions, using thoughtful questions and reflections to help you build self-awareness and move toward the changes you seek.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as listed on the BACP Professional Standards Authority accredited register.

My clinical experience includes working with clients therapeutically in private practice and NHS primary care settings, where I have experience of supporting clients who are struggling with difficulties including depression, anxiety, identity, work stress, self-esteem, trauma, bereavement/loss, life changes and relationship difficulties.  I also have experience of working with clients who have a diagnosis of autism and ADHD.

Training, qualifications & experience

I undertook my training at Northern Guild Psychotherapy and Counselling in Newcastle upon Tyne where I completed an accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Level 6 - Undergraduate Degree equivalent qualification).

I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology (Distinction) from the University of East London.

I have experience supporting clients in an NHS primary care (GP) setting, as well as in private practice offering individual therapy sessions to adults aged 18 and above.

I have also worked as a lawyer in a public institution and in private practice in the City of London, and hold Postgraduate Law qualifications as well as a BA (Hons) Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish & Catalan).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
