About me

Sometimes life can feel too much. Overwhelmed by it all, stuck in the same destructive patterns or feeling totally lost. I’m Sophie, a counsellor and anxiety therapist. I offer a supportive space for women navigating anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, or feeling like they’ve lost touch with themselves.

Many of the clients I work with describe living with anxiety, constant self-doubt, or feeling overwhelmed — even if everything “looks fine” on the outside. I’ll meet you with empathy and curiosity, not judgment — to help you explore what’s going on, reconnect with your needs and start feeling like yourself again.

Hi, I'm Sophie

I’m a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist, counsellor and anxiety therapist. Together we'll find clarity and create space for real, lasting change. I'll help you to explore the roots of your anxiety or stress and help you regain a sense of balance and calm.

What type of therapy do I offer?

I practice pluralistic psychotherapy – a flexible, collaborative approach that recognises there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. It draws from a range of therapeutic methods from psychodynamic, CBT and person-centred modalities to fit your needs, preferences and goals. I'm also a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and adhere to their ethical framework.

I'll provide a space just for you – a supportive, non-judgemental place to talk about what’s going on in your life, your mind and your emotions. It’s about getting to know yourself better and working through anything that feels heavy, confusing or stuck.

We'll meet once a week, and through open conversation and gentle exploration, we’ll start to untangle thoughts, feelings and patterns that might be holding you back. It’s a collaborative process – you’re not doing it alone.

Areas I work with:

I typically see women in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout and relationship issues, but I work with a whole range of clients:

Depression
Low self-esteem
Self-sabotage, including perfectionism
Trauma
Alcohol misuse
Disordered eating
Sexual abuse
Domestic abuse

My background

Before training to become a psychotherapist, I worked in broadcasting for a decade, working closely with executives and talent in high-stress environments. Now I’m pursuing my passion and purpose: empowering people to live calmer, more fulfilled lives in private practice and with Islington Mind, the mental health charity, and Industry Minds, a charity that supports creatives in the arts industry.

How many sessions do I need?

The amount of sessions is entirely up to you. Many of my clients find 8-10 sessions can be transformative, while others stay longer for deeper self-exploration and growth.

Get in touch

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. I wholeheartedly believe that the relationship I have with my clients is the most crucial part of the process, so please do get in touch if you have any questions, or to simply see if we are the right fit. I provide a free 20 minute video consultation via Google Meets.

Training, qualifications & experience

Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

I've worked with a range of clients and presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, alcohol misuse and survivors of sexual abuse with Islington Mind and Industry Minds.
