About me
Hi, I’m Sophie, an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist (BACP).
I support people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure of themselves, and are looking for a safe, grounded space to make sense of what’s going on inside.
You might be here because…
- You're feeling overwhelmed or finding it hard to cope
- You’re stressed, anxious or struggling to switch off
- You feel lost, disconnected or unsure of who you are right now
- Your confidence has dropped and you’re overthinking everything
- You’re repeating the same patterns in relationships
- You feel burnout creeping in, or you’ve already hit it
- You’re carrying old experiences and aren’t sure how to move forward
If any of this resonates, you’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Reaching out is a powerful first step.
How I Work
My approach is warm, relational and grounded. I won’t analyse you from a distance or rush you into anything. Instead, we’ll slow things down so you can explore your thoughts and feelings with curiosity, not judgement.
Together, we’ll look at what’s happening for you right now, how past experiences may be shaping the present, and what you need in order to feel more connected, confident and steady within yourself.
Clients often tell me they feel:
- more grounded
- clearer about what they want
- less overwhelmed
- more self-assured
- able to make healthier choices in relationships and work
My Specialism: Musicians and Creatives
Alongside being a therapist, I’m also a practicing musician, so I deeply understand the emotional landscape of life. The highs, the pressure, the expectations, the vulnerability and the isolation that can come with it.
I support musicians and creative professionals navigating:
- Identity and self-worth (especially when tied to output, image or success)
- Burnout, disconnection or losing the joy in what you do
- Performance anxiety, perfectionism and creative overwhelm
- Relationship strain or emotional dysregulation
- Touring fatigue, instability and life in constant transition
- Being highly sensitive, neurodivergent, or “the emotional one” in high-pressure environments
- Grief, reinvention or major life changes
You won’t need to explain this world to me, we’ll explore how it has shaped you and what you need now.
While this is a passion of mine, I welcome clients from all backgrounds.
What Working With Me Feels Like
- A calm, steady space where you can be fully yourself
- Someone who listens closely and works with you, not at you
- Honest, supportive conversations that help you understand your patterns
- Space to feel emotions safely, without being judged or rushed
- A pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you are
Therapy with me is collaborative, we’ll explore things together and figure out what healing and change look like for you.
Free 15-Minute Introduction Call
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call as a first step. Therapy is, at its heart, a relationship and it’s important that you have a sense of how it feels to speak with me.
This call isn’t an assessment or a consultation in the formal sense. It’s simply a space for us to meet, for you to share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy (if you’d like to), and to notice whether you feel comfortable enough to take things further. You’re welcome to ask questions about how I work, and there’s no pressure to decide anything on the spot. Often, people are not just looking for techniques, but for a way of being met.
What to Expect in the First Session
Rather than rushing into goals or solutions, we begin by creating a space where you feel able to speak openly and be heard.
We’ll explore what has brought you here, but also how it feels to be here.
I’m attentive to what unfolds between us as much as to the content of what you share. Our work together grows from this relational foundation.
There is no expectation to disclose everything at once. We move at your pace. My role is to offer a steady, thoughtful, and engaged presence, someone alongside you as we begin to make sense of your experiences, patterns, and relationships, both past and present.
We’ll also take some time to agree on practicalities and boundaries, so that the work has a safe and clear framework to develop within.
The first session is less about “fixing” and more about beginning, beginning a conversation, a relationship, and a process of deeper understanding.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
