About me
I offer psychotherapeutic counselling in east Cornwall. I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, am trained as a Clinical and Complex Trauma Professional and a Mindfulness Teacher. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I run a busy private practice, where adult clients of all ages are welcome, as well as young people aged 12 and over. I work part-time for the NHS as a Counsellor in primary care. I offer short and longer-term counselling.
It is not always easy to work through difficulties on your own, having someone to talk things through with can make a difference. I can help you to understand what is happening and to work out how you’d like to respond to challenges you are facing. Counselling helps us to pause and reflect, to see more clearly and find a way forward. It’s also a place to delve deeply into how we are and the patterns that are repeating in our lives. I offer a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment.
Counselling is a confidential, non-judgemental space. It is a space to talk, to be yourself, to work through problems and concerns you have, or to just be, without any judgement. It is like pressing the pause button on every day life, and taking the time to reflect and process what is happening.
Counselling can involve talking about painful experiences and emotions, confusing situations and difficult decisions, and sometimes overwhelming events. Finding someone you feel comfortable with is the most important first step.
Counselling will hopefully help you to find your way forward. I can offer you my reflections, and have some tools you may find helpful, but it is not for me to tell you what you should do or change - I prefer to help clients to follow their own authority.
I work with mindful awareness, encouraging slowing down and noticing what is happening in the 'here and now' and what you need. In this way of working, we can begin to see more choices and to live life more in tune with our core values.
Counselling sessions can include talking, drawing, sand tray, ‘listening’ to the inside of your body, movement and mindfulness practice, resting – together we can find out what works best for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
