About me

Are you anxious, depressed, grieving, or simply struggling to cope? Perhaps you’re not sure and just want to talk about what’s troubling you? Whatever it is that’s on your mind, I'm here to listen.

I can offer you the confidential and non-judgemental space you need to explore your feelings, talk about your issues, and work through your problems. Just call or email me today to arrange a free no-obligation consultation.

I offer walk and talk therapy sessions in a number of scenic outdoor locations in my local area, as well as via WhatsApp video call from a confidential space within my home.

More about me:

I'm a person-centred counsellor, trained and skilled in talking therapy and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP).

Coping with multiple bereavements in my family and the impact it has had made me realise how important the need to talk and share problems is. It’s also made me understand that though everyone deals with their problems in different ways, the common thread is always the importance of talking about them.

Before I started my counselling journey, I had careers as both a newspaper sub editor and copywriter. I continue to run my own copywriting and editing business alongside my counselling practice and write in my spare time.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • BACP Registered member (MBACP)
  • Level 3 Safeguarding Adults

I continue to work with a wide range of people of all ages who are suffering from loss and bereavement, whether grieving a loved one or coming to terms with their own issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
