About me

We all go through difficult periods in life and sometimes we just need another person to help us find our way through. I offer confidential and non-judgemental counselling both in person and online and I'm here to stand by you and help you on your journey to better mental health.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and am currently in the last year of studying my Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Warwick University. I am a registered member of the BACP which means that I follow their ethical guidelines and training requirements to ensure my clients are provided with a safe and secure place to express their real feelings and explore what is happening without judgement.

After gaining my Psychology degree I always knew that supporting and helping people was my calling in life. I took an introduction to counselling course and loved every moment of it. I began my career counselling children and young people over the phone and online and have since counselled adults in a range of settings including cancer services, charitable organisations and online services.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Therapies offered

Fees

£45.00 per session

Additional information

I charge £45 a session. This is payable at the end of each session and can be paid either in cash or via bank-transfer. If you would like to set-up a direct debit to cover sessions then this can be arranged.

Once we have booked a regular slot this will be yours until you no longer require it or, if needed, until a new day and time are confirmed. I appreciate that life happens and sometimes sessions need to be cancelled for unforeseeable circumstances. Sessions cancelled with more than 24hours notice will not be charged. Sessions cancelled with 24hours or less notice will be charged at the full amount.

Further information

I work in an integrative way. That means that I don't have a 'one method fits all' style and instead use a range of different therapeutic styles meaning that each session is as unique and individual as my client's circumstances. I integrate a mixture of Person Centred and Psychodynamic methods into my counselling as well as using processes from Transactional Analysis and Internal Family Systems. This means that I focus on my client's current feelings and behaviours as well as explore childhood experiences that may have shaped the way they react to present day situations.

By working through past and present traumas together the aim is to help clients explore the parts of themselves that are causing distress and find a way to work with these parts so they don't cause as much damage and are easier to manage.

If you would like to start your therapeutic journey then I have the time, patience and compassion to walk with you through the light and the dark and help you find a safer place and way of being.
