About me
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years of practice, working online and providing a flexible, confidential space to work towards change.
My Approach
I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, coaching, and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). This allows me to tailor my therapy according to what is in front of me.
Who do I work with?
Over 25 years of working with clients, I’ve noticed how often I work with many clients who have some very common and harder to define patterns. These might resonate with you.
- Difficulty identifying what feels “wrong”
- Feeling stuck in one or more areas of life
- Low energy or reduced sense of purpose
- Ongoing overwhelm or persistent worry (global or personal
- A need not just for therapy, but for a blend of therapy and coaching to support direction and change
What conditions do I work with?
I do of course work with a wide range of mental health difficulties and neurodivergences, including -
- anxiety /stress
- low mood / depression
- trauma and grief
- relationship conflict
- addiction and habits
- motivation
- self-esteem
- autism and ADHD
To do therapy or not to do therapy?
If you’ve never been in therapy, it can feel daunting talking about oneself, the stuff we’ve buried away, not thought about, the stuff that triggers, makes us sad, annoyed, hurt, it is meant to be tough.
But once you’re in it, it is likely to be grounding, empowering, and transformative.
- I work holistically, focusing on the client as a whole person - thinking about the past, present, and future self.
- I see therapy as about helping clients reconnect with themselves so life feels more manageable, aligned, and fulfilling.
- I see therapy as mostly being about what happens outside the therapy space.
A bit more about me
Alongside my clinical work, I am an academic psychologist with a PhD. I bring this dual perspective into my practice and regularly write about psychological themes and the therapeutic process. I also have a strong interest in neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD, and supporting individuals in navigating the world in ways that work for them.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
