About me

Hello,  and thank you for taking time to read my profile.

My name is Sarah, a fully registered and highly experienced Psychodynamic Therapist/Supervisor as well as an Organisational Consultant/coach.

Over the course of the past two decades, I have cultivated my professional journey within the realm of Mental Health, assuming various roles.

My primary focus has been on delivering Psychotherapy and Counselling services for both short-term and long-term engagements, spanning across the UK and Europe.

My extensive insights and expertise have been cultivated through diverse sectors such as the NHS, Education, and Third Sectors, complemented by the successful management of a thriving private practice.

In recent years, my educational path led me to The Tavistock Institute, where I acquired a Masters Degree in Consulting and Leadership within Organisations.

My approach is grounded in Psychodynamic and Systemic methodologies, shaping my work with organisations and team dynamics.

Before my clinical pursuits, I accumulated significant experience as a program leader and trainer for BACP-accredited counselling courses. This encompassed teaching from foundational to Degree levels, incorporating therapeutic and psychodynamic counselling principles.

Selecting a therapeutic partnership can pose a challenge, comparable to choosing a life partner. This process alone can be intricate. To aid you in this, I extend a complimentary 20-minute consultation. During this time, we can discuss your aspirations, expectations, and objectives for therapy. Simultaneously, you can gauge if my approach aligns with your needs, equipping you to make an informed choice.

In an environment designated exclusively for you—safe, non-judgmental, and confidential—you can explore your needs and concerns, fostering a foundation of trust and support.

The therapeutic journey unveils self-awareness, spotlighting strengths and areas where personal growth is attainable. By nurturing a sincere, open, and reliable relationship, the foundation for comprehending oneself and others with empathy and clarity is established.

My practice predominantly operates through online platforms like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, and MS Teams.

Should the above match your requirements, please feel free to contact me and we can take the first initial steps in arranging a free 20 minute meeting as mentioned above.

Warm regards,

Sarah

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
