About me

Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a fully qualified and experienced psychodynamic therapist. For the last 14 years, I have shaped my career in providing a therapeutic space for short term and long term therapeutic intervention within the local vicinity.  I am passionate about my work and believe in therapy wholeheartedly. This I am sure, reflects in my work which has been mainly in the voluntary, public and private sectors.

Alongside my clinical work, I also have extensive experience as a programme leader and trainer for BACP accredited counselling courses, from foundation to diploma qualifications in both therapeutic and psychodynamic counselling. I am a registered member with BACP and I offer psychodynamic therapy on a short or long term basis according to your needs.

Making a commitment to a therapeutic relationship can be a difficult decision for some. You could go as far to say, choosing the right therapist is like choosing your life partner. This alone can be challenging in itself. To help with this,  I offer a 30 minute consultation to discuss your expectations, hopes and desires in what you would like to gain from therapy and for you to discover also, if my approach is right for you, prior to you making your decision.

Through the provision of a safe, non-judgemental and confidential  space, which is solely set aside for you, is unique in itself. This encourages a trusting and supportive environment for you to explore  your needs and any concerns you may have. Through the therapeutic process you may become more aware of yourself, highlighting your strengths and acknowledging where you hold yourself back.

Developing an honest, open and trustworthy relationship is the first step in developing a more informed sense of self, which will ultimately enable you to understand you and those around you in a more coherent and empathic manner.

Due to the current climate sessions are currently available online via zoom/skype.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
