About me

If you're struggling with issues such as childhood trauma, anxiety, difficult relationships, caring responsibilities, menopause or simply feeling lost in the stresses of everyday life, therapy can help you make sense of what you're experiencing and help you reconnect with your authentic self.

As a BACP registered integrative counsellor I offer counselling for adults in my comfortable space in Metheringham, online across the UK and through walk and talk sessions in nature. I am here  to listen and understand you and your experiences and build a therapeutic relationship in which you can feel supported to develop self-awareness and move towards a more confident, fulfilling life.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor therapy to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is grounded in a person-centred philosophy, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. Alongside talking therapy, I may draw on ideas from attachment theory, transactional analysis, parts work, psychoeducation, and body-based awareness where these are helpful to your understanding and growth.

I work in a trauma-informed way, paying attention not only to what has happened to you, but also to how those experiences may continue to affect your relationships, confidence, emotions, and sense of self. My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and the freedom to live more authentically.

In addition to traditional counselling sessions, I offer walk-and-talk therapy in outdoor settings for clients who feel more comfortable moving, being in nature, or talking side-by-side rather than face-to-face. I also offer online sessions and, where appropriate, home visits.

A free 15-minute introductory call is available to help you decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BPS-accredited BA (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Alongside my core training, I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing professional development. Areas of further training and study include trauma-informed practice, complex trauma and PTSD, Transactional Analysis (TA101), walk and talk therapy, and An Introduction to Menopause for Psychological Therapists through the University College London (UCL) Menopause Mind Lab.

As a BACP registered counsellor, I am committed to working ethically, safely, and in the best interests of my clients. I attend regular supervision and ongoing professional development to support the quality of my practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
