About me

Thank you for visiting my page. I have been practising as a counsellor for over ten years and offer a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. I am also a qualified supervisor and provide clinical supervision to other counsellors. In-person and online in Bedford.

Perhaps you're struggling with something you can define such as relationship difficulties, the death of a loved one, or have had a traumatic experience. Maybe it is something less clear such as feelings of depression or anxiety, or just not feeling good about yourself or the way life is going for you right now.

I offer a safe, confidential and ethical counselling relationship where together we can explore the difficulties that you may be facing in a way that can help you to understand more about yourself. This can lead to a deeper connection with yourself and give you more choice in how to respond to the inevitable challenges that you will meet in life, leaving you with a sense of more control and being able to respond to difficulties rather than to react.

My interest is in you, the whole person... not just parts of you or a diagnosis that you might have. I also welcome enquiries from those who find it hard to define what is pushing them to seek counselling.

I offer long or short-term counselling for adults over the age of 18.

I am a qualified Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their professional code of ethics.

My practice is at a location that is in Bedford Town Centre. Please call, text or email today to arrange an appointment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and experience of working with a wide range of issues within different organisations. In addition to my independent practice, I have worked for a counselling service in Hertfordshire and am currently the Clinical Lead and Supervisor for an organisation supporting those affected by the grief and trauma of fatal road collisions.

I am a qualified Supervisor and provide clinical supervision of other Counsellors. I have also been a tutor on a counsellor training course.

I am committed to continuing my own personal and professional development and attend my own therapy, clinical supervision and further training relevant to my practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
