About me

I believe no one has to stay stuck in the situations they find themselves in - there is always hope and there is help.

Sometimes life can feel small or overwhelming. You might feel caught in patterns of thinking or living that no longer fit, or something may have happened that’s changed the way you see everything.

If this feels familiar, I can help. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can talk things through, gain insight, and begin to move forward at your own pace.

I’m a fully qualified, BACP registered therapist, trained in psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches. I work with adults (18+) on a wide range of issues, including:

  • Trauma
  • Sexual assault
  • Birth trauma and pregnancy issues
  • Addiction
  • Bullying
  • Boarding school experiences
  • Family relationships and issues
  • Childhood trauma
  • Domestic abuse
  • LGBT+ concerns
  • ADHD

Whether you’re seeking understanding, healing, or simply a place to be heard, you’re welcome to reach out. I offer a free 20 minute call so we can get to know each other and see if I’m the right fit for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualification and core training is in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and I also draw on other approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. I work in a relational way, which means that the connection we build together is a key part of the therapy itself.

Psychodynamic therapy explores how our early experiences and relationships shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others in the present. Together, we’ll look at how these past influences may be affecting your life now, helping you to understand yourself more deeply and feel more at ease in the world.

Sometimes, these patterns are outside of our awareness and we might not realise why we react in certain ways or repeat behaviours that don’t serve us. In therapy, I’ll support you in making sense of these experiences so you can gain clarity, feel more in control, and create lasting change in how you live and relate to others.

I also take part in ongoing specialist training and professional development, keeping my skills and knowledge up to date on a wide range of issues, including sexual abuse, perinatal trauma and baby loss, boarding school syndrome, suicide, criminality, domestic abuse, and LGBT issues.

I work affirmatively with neurodivergent people and the LGBTQ+ community.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

After you get in touch
I offer a free 20 minute phone call to learn more about what you’re looking for from counselling and to explain how I work. You’ll also have the chance to ask me any questions. If it feels right to go ahead, we can then arrange a first session.

Your first session
Whether in person in Brighton or online, this is a space for you to bring whatever is on your mind and to get a sense of how it feels to work together. If you’d like to continue, we’ll arrange your next session, usually at the same day and time each week.

Your second session
In this session, we’ll go through some brief paperwork and agree our counselling contract, so you know exactly what to expect as we move forward.
