About me

Welcome to Hudson Therapy - Im so glad you're here

Have you spent years pushing your feelings down, experiencing anxiety or depression, or withdrawing when emotions come up? Perhaps your past experiences keep replaying in ways that affect your relationships and your sense of identity. You may feel like there is no hope, and that nobody truly understands how you are feeling. I can help you start noticing what’s happening beneath the surface, at your own pace, and carry that hope for you until you are ready to experience it yourself.

What I offer:

I provide a calm, supportive space where there is no pressure to perform, explain everything neatly, or be “good at” therapy. We work at your pace, sometimes talking, sometimes noticing what is happening beneath the surface. I work primarily in a person-centred way, informed by psychodynamic and attachment-based thinking which means I can look at the past, the present and the future depending on what you need at the time.

Who I work with:

I work with adults and young people experiencing:

  • Anxiety, depression and low self esteem
  • Relationship or attachment difficulties
  • Feeling emotionally numb, shut down, or disconnected
  • Stress or trauma linked to past experiences or repeating patterns
  • Identity challenges, including those who identify as neurodivergent

Practical information:
I offer short and long-term therapy, online or face-to-face. We review our work regularly so therapy remains purposeful and grounded in what you want to move towards whether that is understanding, change, or simply feeling more like yourself. I offer a free 20-minute consultation call to see if we’re a good fit, with no pressure or obligation.  I am an accredited member of the NCPS, and hold a full enhanced DBS certificate.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling (CPCAB)
  • Accredited Member of the NCPS
  • 20+ years of experience in the Corporate environment as a coach and mentor
  • Trauma informed certificate for Coaches - Centre for Healing

I work to the NCPS Ethical Framework, ensuring the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism in my practice. I also hold an Enhanced DBS, giving further reassurance that you are in safe and capable hands.

I am an integrative therapist who will tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. Essentially, I draw on ideas from person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed perspectives. I believe that healing happens through relationship - through the genuine, collaborative connection we build together.

In sessions, I also pay attention to how emotions are experienced in the body. Our bodies often hold stress or tension linked to past experiences. Gently noticing these sensations can support calm, self-awareness, and a greater sense of control - helping you feel more grounded, regulated, and able to respond to life rather than react automatically.

I can also help you explore life’s bigger questions - including identity, values, and how to make sense of the challenges you face - to support meaning and purpose in your life.

I integrate music therapy and creative activities into my practice to enable you to find your way to navigate your inner world

I continue to develop my practice through ongoing training, supervision, and reflective work to ensure my approach remains ethical, informed, and responsive to each person I work with.

How I Work

Therapy is a space to pause and notice, to tune into what’s happening inside and between us. Noticing is the first step; from there, we work together to identify what you want to change and develop gentle, practical ways to regain control, feel more balanced, and strengthen your sense of self.

I work relationally, meaning we pay attention to the connection we build together as part of the work itself. Sometimes what happens between us can reflect patterns from your wider life, and exploring this gently can help uncover new ways of being.

I also bring a body-aware focus, helping you notice physical sensations linked to emotions. This supports regulation, calm, and self-awareness, helping you feel more in control and able to respond to life with clarity.

For those recovering from trauma, we always work at a pace that feels safe. Stability and trust come first, only when you feel grounded do we explore deeper experiences and patterns.

At its heart, therapy is about reconnection, with yourself, with others, and with life. I believe that, no matter what you’ve been through, it is possible to rediscover your inner strength and move towards a calmer, more authentic way of living
